  • 5 Steps to Better Research
    In this tutorial students learn the five steps to better research. This is an amazing resource that defines creating a topic, as well as, how to research that topic.
  • NoodleTools: MLA Lite
    This website is an amazing resource for compiling MLA citations. From here students can export their works cited pages, and analyze the types of resources they are using. To use this resource you must sign up for an account. Please see me if you have any questions, or need help signing up.
  • Helios: Research Tutorials
    This website offers several powerpoint lessons that will teach your students the necessary skills needed for research. These skills include: MLA format, quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing articles, plagiarism, and much more. Coupled with the lessons are brief research tutorials that students can complete on their own, or that can be done with the class. 
  • OWL at Purdue MLA
    An online writing lab from Purdue University. This link will send you directly to online help in composing a paper and formal citations in proper MLA format.

To assist students and staff to become independent lifelong learners by providing a variety of resources
to support both curricula and recreational needs.

Policies and Procedures

General Policies:
  •  The Library is open from 7:30 - 3:30 four days a week and from 8:00 - 3:30 on Wednesday. Come in any time before school, after school, or during class time with a teacher signed pass to check out books or use the computer.
  • If you come to the library during class time, you must have a pass from a teacher or your agenda properly filled out.
  • You must sign in upon entering the library for any reason.
  • Absolutely NO food or drink is allowed, especially no gum.
  • Students are expected to work quietly and respect others' needs while in the library.


Check-Out Procedures :
  • Regular library materials (fiction and non-fiction) may be checked for a two-week time limit. Any overdue materials will be charged a fine of 5 cents per day.
  • Magazines in special folders may be checked out for 2 days.
 Printing Procedures:
  • Students are responsible for all printing done in the library, including assignments for school.
  • Make sure that you Proofread your work, use Spell Check, and use the Print Preview option before actually printing. 
  • Black and white pages: 10 cents/page
  • Color: 25 cents/page
Computer Use:
  • Computers are available for use by all students. Students may play games in the mornings, unless there are students who need to work on a school assignment. Students may be asked to give up a computer for another student who needs to work on school work.
  • The Internet Acceptable Use Policy must be followed at all times.
